An impressive, imposing European champion makes his way back to Australia in 2024, standing exclusively at Llowalong Farms. Bred in America, Volstead went on to become an international champion, winning a Group 1 on the continent and defeating top horses such as Elitloppet winners Ringostarr Treb and Magic Tonight on multiple occasions. A proven sire maker, Cantab Hall has produced yet another star in the barn with Volstead whose progeny are firing all across the world.

In North America, VOLSTEAD has had only 23 starters but they have already laid claim to almost a million in stakes and two have posted times of TR1:55 or faster! Sugar Instead has been an outstanding filly to date, recording $398,000 in earnings and a PB of TR1:52.4 while rising star Jurassic Hattie has annexed the $100,000 Ohio Sires Stakes 3YO Trotting Fillies FInal in TR1:54 for 2024. Here in Australia it's also fillies leading the way. Keayang Zahara (TR1:58.4, $89,000) took both the NSW Oaks and NSW Derby in 2024, the 2YO Vicbred fillies final was claimed by Violet Stanford, while his leading money earner is Nutrien Equine Classic 3YO Trotting Fillies Final winner, Maoris Mac (TR2:01.5, $121,000). In New Zealand it's another filly leading the way - Empire City (TR2:05.4, $176,000) has won the GROUP 1 Ace of Hearts 2YO Fillies Trot, GR2 Sires Stakes 2YO Championship, GR2 NZSS 3YO Trotters Championship & GR3 Northern Trotting Oaks. The boys don't miss out - Derek The Jet has netted over $93,000 including the Listed Lunar Lass 3YO Trotters Classic and Val Thorens took the GR1 Breeders Crown 2YO C&G Final in 2023.
